LOVE YOU NEW KITTEN! Treating Your New kitten as one of your family members.

Things you'll need for your PERSIAN :

Love is one of the most fundamental elements you can offer your new kitten. Yes, they seem like independent individual, but they need to feel loved every once and a while. So give your new kitten lots of love and attention during the first few months. Their personality will depend on how they're treated during their younger years.

  Play Time

Play is necessary for proper development in kittens, and veterinarians recommend that adult indoor cats be encouraged to play because it's the only exercise they get.

Remember Older Cats..need play time too!
As kittens age, some lose interest in toys. Other cats will continue chasing ping-pong balls throughout their lifetime. Particularly in single-cat households, you can encourage a cat by playing with it. Despite their independent nature, most domestic cats do enjoy playing with a companion.

Catnip
When a cat becomes bored, it might be time to take out the catnip. Some cats are completely unaffected by this herb, but for many it takes off the edge. Cats can get easily stressed when anything different takes place in the household.

Kittens are Social Animals

Brushing....or Combing
Just remember that a matted cat is not a pretty site. BRUSHING is very important.  Brushing your cat every day...  not only does it keep the Persian's coat looking long and beautiful, it also keeps them healthy as well.  Also it is  painful for cats to be matted.
First, use a metal comb to free any snarls, working from head to the tail. Watch out for fleas which appear as shiny black specks.

MEOWWWWWWWWW! TIPS ON GROOMING

Specific attention should be paid to the cat's head.

Begin with the ears, eyes and teeth.

  1. Look inside each ear for any signs of dirt or the accumulation of dark-colored wax. Clean out the ears using one of two twists of cotton lightly moistened.
  2. Check the eyes. If there is any overflow of tears, caused particularly by a blocked tear duct, there will be dark staining of the face below the innermost angle of the eyelids. In the corner of the eye, cysts of dried mucus may have accumulated. Clean the area gently with a warm, weak solution of salt in water. Persistent "tear-staining" or marked eye discharge requires veterinary attention.
  3. Inspect the teeth for encrustations of tarter. Is the breath sweet? Ideally get your cat accustomed to having its teeth cleaned once a week with a soft toothbrush, salt water, or by using one of the special pet toothpastes now available. Once formed into a chalky deposit on the teeth, tarter will need to be removed by the veterinarian using de-scaling instruments or an ultra-sound machine.
  4. Care of Claws
If in any doubt as to how to trim the claws, let a vet show you how.
  5. A PRETTY CAT!      A LITTLE WORK A PRETTY CAT!
Use either very sharp scissors, toe nail clippers, or veterinarian clippers. The animal should be grasped securely in your lap. Extend the claws by applying gentle pressure on the pay pad. You will see that they are made up of two types of tissue. The main part is pinkish and contains the quick. This is packed with nerves and would be painful if cut. The outer tip of the claw, which is white, is composed of dead tissue and is safe to cut, but not closer then a tenth of an inch (2mm) to the quick.
